‘TIS THE SEASON TO RECYCLE WITH BIFFA
Waste management company, Biffa, isn’t the brand you expect to dominate the Christmas chatter. Just when you thought you’d seen the only big, red, AI-generated truck during the Christmas ad season, Biffa rolled in by recycling the festive formula in a way only they could. We created their festive film entirely using AI production models, which were trained on their visual identity, character design and vehicle form.
For Biffa, a business deep in the realities of waste, recycling and the circular economy, leaning into emerging technology might seem unexpected - but that was the point. By combining its Wasteater characters and iconic trucks with next-generation content creation, Biffa has demonstrated that utility brands can leverage exceptional storytelling.
Previously, bringing an entire fleet of Wasteaters to life at the scale and quality required would have demanded significant time and production budget. For this video, AI-enabled branded content wasn't used as a shortcut, but instead as a multiplier for creative ambition.
The results were incredibly successful, with over 245 reposts on LinkedIn. We were open and honest about the use of AI and celebrated how it was used, which has been crucial to the success of the video.
