2014: A review by Ali Bulley
15 Dec 2014
Ali manages our exceptionally busy diary and keeps all of our clients happy by finding those elusive items that can make or break a shoot. 2014 was no exception as you can see in Ali's review...
When I am not in work you will mostly find me:
Looking after my 2 boys, Reggie & Sid, going out with friends, which in turn means drinking, and then pretending that I am a natural born runner, as I drag myself around the local streets to burn off the alcohol acquired calories!
The most exciting/dramatic/interesting/scary/boring thing that happened to me in 2014 was:
The most challenging, and at the time the most pressured thing was on the Alexander Dennis location shoot, when the location collapsed 24hrs prior to the shoot in Scotland, and I was faced with sourcing a new one.
It needed to accommodate a double decker bus (so needed large entrance doors), have skylights built into the roof AND look industrial. To top this brief off was also the fact that the vehicle was under embargo, so the location needed to be close to their depot to allow the vehicle to be moved at night… not a small challenge!
I am pleased/relieved to say that I managed to source a warehouse next to the depot, that was council owned and vacant. As timings were so tight I convinced them to waive the 7 x day licence period which was great. My powers of persuasion even resulted in them travelling down to the depot and hand the keys over to our client! Ultimately, we had complete control over the building to suit our needs and timings!! Yey and phew!!
The J11 project that I am most proud of this year is:
The J11 Xmas card because I got the lucky task of sourcing and booking ‘Cracker’ the reindeer.
It was lovely to see all of the J11 staff smiling and laughing together as this mystical animal entertained us all, putting us in the Xmas spirit!
