Ayrton Senna's Lotus 98T
24 Sep 2014
One of the world's most famous sports cars has been to Junction Eleven for a unique photoshoot.
JPS Lotus 98T was Ayrton Senna’s race car for the latter part of the classic 1986 Formula 1 season
It went on to score four pole positions out of eight that Senna achieved that year and finished on the podium three times. It was also the car in which Senna famously battled with Nelson Piquet for the lead of the inaugural Hungarian Grand Prix.
Dawn Treader have spent many hours painstakingly reconditioning as many original parts as possible to bring them back to how they would have looked straight out of the Lotus workshops at Ketteringham Hall.
Charles Ward Photography
Our clients at CWP brought the car to our studios for this fantastic photoshoot.
Charles' son James first joined the commercial photography business in 2008 as a Photographers Assistant. Keen to not forget his roots, James is determined to make a mark in the automotive industry for both his moving picture and stills work.
James freely admits that photographing Senna's Lotus 98T so early in his career was a daunting prospect at first, but commented "the excellent facilities and advice from technicians at Junction 11 soon expelled any nerves and let the day run without a hitch."
We hope to see the team back here soon. Hopefully with another piece of Automotive history!
